Our Story

Today Software Limited (originally Today Software Distribution) was founded in New Zealand in 1987. 

The company entered into Retail POS (Point-of-Sale) and RMS (Retail Management Systems) markets soon after with the POSperfect product which was originally developed in the USA with strong size management features for Apparel. A major draw-card was that the system also had a Corporate Controller RMS for large chains.

On recognising the potential of these systems, we purchased the source code rights and developed a host of new features including powerful Inventory systems designed for other markets like Grocery and Liquor. With the introduction of MS Windows 95 we completely redeveloped the POSperfect system for that environment, later adding a Multi-Store Controller module for smaller retail chains.

The products have constantly evolved into a comprehensive suite of systems and features for businesses of all sizes across and suited to most retail markets. The company’s market share has steadily increased building off a strong base in the Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region, and expanding into other global markets.

At the helm of our company are our owners Dale Kelly, Mark Jones and Zhen Liu. Between them they have some 60 plus years of experience in Retail Management software.

Support and Development staff have considerable expertise in their designated roles for our POS, Retail Management applications and systems. 

All our application software is developed in-house with new developments, customisations and integrations permanently incorporated in the software libraries to preserve ongoing compatibility.
