POSperfect's security features are well valued and respected
by its users.
In the U.S.A. the credit card companies demand all pos
systems comply with their very rigorous security standards
(PA-DSS) involving credit card payments. POSperfect is working through
Mercury Payment System's TranSentry 2.0 (PA-DSS compliant) to meet all
these standards.
Within POSperfect itself is a 20-level
security matrix that can be applied to most functions in the
entire system. some examples are:
- Controlling which staff can accept returns
- Controlling which staff create customer accounts
- Controlling which staff can discount/markdown sales
- Controlling which staff can view reports
Each staff member is set at a level on the matrix and each function can be assigned a level. Staff below that assigned level cannot access that function.
In addition to all that, the system records all actions made,
e.g. opening the cash drawer, that can be subsequently tracked.
